Our lecturers

Lectures to the Society are given by lecturers accredited by our national parent body, The Arts Society. To gain accreditation, lecturers must be expert in their subject and able to give an engaging, well-illustrated and entertaining lecture suited to a non-specialist audience.

Time and place

Lectures are held on the first (or sometimes second) Tuesday of each month (except July, August and September) at 7.15 pm, at Landau Forte College, Fox St, Derby DE1 2LF.

Parking is available in one of the college car parks, or in the nearby streets. In the evening, access to the college is from the front car park. The main entrance is in the building facing you – go through the main doors past the reception desk and you will see the registration desk for the lecture a short way down the corridor on the right.

There is a licensed cafe in the college, next door to the lecture theatre, where you can enjoy refreshments and company before or after the lecture.
